RG Architects, P.A. conducted a thorough feasibility study and conceptual basis design for the innovative K-8 school project. This project is the result of a partnership established by the School District of Lee County and Florida Gulf Coast University, which aims to enhance the learning experience of students by providing a flexible and research-driven approach to pedagogy. The school will be located at 12690 Treeline Avenue in Fort Myers and will have an approximate building area of 130,000 gross square feet. It will feature a diverse range of facilities, including an administrative building, a fully equipped gym, a spacious kitchen and dining area, a central energy plant, a modern media center, outdoor labs, pre-k classroom pod, k-1 classroom pod, grades 2-3 classroom pod, grades 4-5 classroom pod, grades 6-8 classroom pod, flexible classrooms spaces, small gathering spaces, and a nature trail. 


The project is also anticipated to meet public shelter design criteria and designated enhanced hurricane protection areas (EHPAs) as required by the Florida Building Code.
