The River Club at Pelican Sound is an example of resilience and teamwork, a project that surged from unforeseen events and turned into a reimagined and detail-driven architecture piece.

Hurricane Ian arrived in 2022 bringing about three feet of water into the existing River Club. The administration and staff and design team were quick to gather in the aftermath of the disaster and work on a new lasting structure that would bring back the vibrance of the community.

The interior renovations take advantage of the open floorplan by setting in place a new social hub with bar and dining areas complimentary to the lifestyle of the residents. Every room was reimagined to transport people while still radiating the casual vibes of the River Club. 

A new outdoor dining space is hosted under a steel structure that respects the existing building but stands out as a new architectural landmark of Pelican Sound.



A triangular footprint maximizes the available space and plays with an angle that addresses the pool and deck in a meaningful way. This new and uniquely shaped shading structure repurposes the fire pits casual dining and pool lounging areas while keeping the old Florida Style with a contemporary modern twist.
